CLASSIC GAME by HORSES MUSIC DOGS feels like a ghost. where did it come from? why does no one ever talk about it? clearly the author has been around for a long time, making RPG Maker games, music, and art for a long time. you can dig thru their youtube channel going back a decade and hear echoes of their presence on uboachan from years ago but their work stands still, pristine and untouched by time.
the moment you step outside your HOME you are assaulted by a crushing atmosphere. the future is uncertain, you have no impression of what is there, nor is it clear that there is a future at all. the game feels like its already over.
the art, music, and thematic direction of CLASSIC GAME to me is immaculate. as a game, though, it is very obtuse. there are several key events that are so ridiculous for a player to even be expected to find without spoilers. it's also unclear when you have seen everything there is to have seen. i definitely had to 'cheat' by watching the '70+ minutes of CLASSIC GAME' video
HORSES MUSIC DOGS has spent the last two years working on their newest game in their HOME GAME series, HOME GAME 3, and anticipates completing it after another year. go support them!!
